I was then informed last Friday that following a Porsche update delivery would be 2023 !...Another twist today as my OPC sales manager has now advised my order was processed before the delay announcement by Porsche and I should expect a car late Q2 next year.
Since I was told of the delay, I've been convincing myself (including my kids) to order a Taycan RWD with pan roof, wheel upgrade and a few small options. Delivery is Q2 2022 and also thinking future resale, fuel savings and latest technology and all that !!!!
Now I'm very undecided and will do back to back test drives early next month to help make a decision
Sorry, but is that "as well as" or "instead of"? The Taycan doesn't strike me as a "family car" 😁
Taycan would be instead of the Macan. From the family aspect, my twins are coming up for 18 and driving so they'd only occasionally be travelling with us. Understandably they like to have a say and are impressed with the tech in the Taycan.

Beaverman I ordered mine on the phone on the M25 in June. Cancelled order by somebody who switched to Gen 3 and OPC rang to say do I want the slot ! Still had the chance to re-configure to my spec but had to have GTS seats as 14 and 18 way were not available.

Good work, you’ve done well to get it that quick. As long as your happy with Gen 2 a sizeable saving for a GTS compared to Gen 3. Personally I’m happier getting gen 2 than 3 as I’m not keen on the touch screen.
Now taken delivery of Gen 2 GTS http://www.porsche-code.com/PMWQDY44

To be fair, I’ve had all the various seats, 14 way are definitely my favourites but having had the GTS standard seats for over 3 years they are very good

I dropped my dealer an email today to confirm they still expect an April build date for my gts. With recent news people getting bumped back to 2023 I was getting a little nervous. He said not to worry, April still worst case scenario so we will see. Thinking about getting rid of my current car soonish as it’s increased 6k in last 6 months but I don’t want to be without a car longer than May

I wouldn’t worry, your current car will be worth the same or more in 6 months

Taken a while to get the insurance sorted, and have finally felt able to go to the local OPC to put a deposit on a new dream build Gen 3 GTS in Papaya (www.porsche-code.com/PNZSZ444) - only to be told the lead time is now 2023!
Have called around other dealers in the region and been told the same, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Otherwise I either keep my powder dry for the next 15 - 18 months, or look for an alternative, neither of which has much appeal.
I'm trying to convince myself that if / when it finally comes it will be worth the wait...
