Hi All
Hoping to finalise my build this week and have a few spec questions. I have tried to search for answers but with limited success:
1 - Exhaust
Does anyone have a rear on photo of the new S with the standard exhaust? I don’t want to pay for the sports exhaust and would rather not pay for the tips either!
2 - Headlights
I have currently ticked the £320 for LED main headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus). What are the standard lights and how does functionality differ? Is the consensus that this is money well spent
3 - Roof Rails
Wasn’t intending to spec these but if I did want to mount onto the roof in the future (unlikely but not impossible) is it possible without the rails?
4 - Auto dimming mirrors front and rear at £252
Once again consensus if required?
5 - Mechanical roll-up sunblind for rear
Money well spent if considering ‘family planning’?!

Also in addition to the above, my current build has pretty much everything I want on it and cost has ended up c. £1-1.5k more than initially planned. Views on what to cut back on if I wanted to bring it back a little?
Finally - still deliberating colour!!
TIA
Thoughts on my Macan S spec and a few questions
Many will have varied and valid comments on all of these. It looks a good spec but you could drop the £1,100 worth of painted exterior bits on a volcano and not notice the difference.
Google Macan exhausts and click “images” you will see plenty of all the varieties.
Finally, and this will be a polarising subject, BOSE is not worth £830 in a Macan… (IMHO)

1 The configurator pictures are quite accurate and allow you to see what difference changes make. I would stick with standard
2 Plus adds more distance adjustment at speed and width at junctions from the navigation position.
3 Thule do a kit
4 I have it and like it as I do not like bright lights from behind. some on hear say less of a problem than it used to be so could depend on the amount of driving you do at night.
5 No knowledge
I would drop Painted exterior package with SportDesign side skirts; especially with volcanic does not make a major difference to looks You can see that by comparing configurator pictures with or without. After that, I would stick with standard 20 s wheels
Otherwise, I thought you had a very sensible spec

2019 Macan S Porsche code PKW8WKI8
That would be a lot of logos!!
It’s only the “plus” part that’s extra and will auto dip the high beam as a primary function. I don’t have it cos I think I can do that myself on the rare occasions that I drive at night on unlit roads. Having said that it’s one of the cheaper options…

4 - Auto dimming mirrors front and rear at £252
I see you've spec'd privacy glass. I've seen quite a few comments on here that privacy helps a lot re this. Based on comments (including feedback from my SE) I've personally not spec'd the dimming mirrors.

Rev Cam, change to Surround Cam, it is far superior.
Blinds, not necessary as you are having tinted glass. Our Grandkids were perfectly OK without the blinds which they would have fiddled with anyway.
Crests are a waste, you can hardly see them, you would be better spending the cash on colour matched Sideblades.

Many thanks for all the replies.
I have taken off the crest on the armrest but will keep on drivers head rests.
I have also taken off the rear sun blinds.
On the negative side I’d forgotten to add the air suspension to the original build so I’m c. £650 worse off than the original build now!
In terms of remaining questions to be answered these include:
Dimming mirrors - good idea to speak with SE. Will likely keep
LED+ - will also likely keep but to check - do the standard lights move as in like follow the corner or is this the whole point of the ‘+’?

I assume you can still dim the rear view mirror manually if you want to?alians1109 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 12:51 am 4 - Auto dimming mirrors front and rear at £252

Automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors - never found headlight dazzle from following vehicles a problem in 4.5 years with the Privacy Glass. The Macan rides higher than a lot of traffic too and I have never had to adjust the mirrors because of dazzle.
The LED standard headlights are excellent and illuminate roads and junctions really well and come with dynamic cornering lights.
PDLS Plus also has a dynamic main beam control with continuous range adaptation based on prevailing traffic and navigation-based Intersection Assistant that activates the left and right static cornering lights for improved illumination of the surrounding area at intersections and junctions.
Ask your OPC to let you night drive test Macans with and without these two options if these are a big concern for you.
