Delaying Registration for 22 Plate
I bought the local OPC’s showroom model. They had no problems holding on to it for a couple of weeks longer and registering on 1st September last year. They did, however, take in my 992 part-ex on the 31st Aug so that it was in stock by the end of the month… the sales guy loaned me his Audi A6 for 24 hours to keep me mobile. Made more sense than wasting a couple of weeks tax and missing out on the 71 plate.

Annoyingly I was convinced mine would go back from the 11th of Feb but ive heard today it’s been brought forward to the 4th.
My car is now apparently arriving tomorrow too!!Partysausage wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 7:53 pm Annoyingly I was convinced mine would go back from the 11th of Feb but ive heard today it’s been brought forward to the 4th.
The dealer has said they can keep it until March but I'm not so sure I want to wait, now

Mileage is the main determinant but there should also be a £500 premium for a 22 plate over a 71.

Good to know. I think I'll take that then- in September when I ordered it seemed easy to think I'll wait another 3weeks if I have to, but now its here its much harderBluesnose1812 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 4:54 pmMileage is the main determinant but there should also be a £500 premium for a 22 plate over a 71.
Driving a nice new Macan for a month is EASILY worth £500! Don't wait.

If you are going to put on a personal plate from the get go, then it will not affect you........ But as a secondhand buyer would you prefer a "Sep 2021" look reg or a March 2022 reg? The next buyer of tour Macan most probably will.....and the dealer buying from you will use it as a negotiating point.
A smaller cost is the £ for registering and taxing it into Feb, rather than wait for 1 March and to get a full month of road tax.
