Just thought I'd introduce myself, having recently placed a deposit for a new GTS.
Have had a BMW X3M Competition for the last three and a half years which was fantastic, but strangely not a great deal of fun to punt down a B road. I remember driving a Macan Turbo a good few years ago and it struck me that it was the best driving small SUV out there, so decided to bite the bullet and get one before they're gone.
Not sure when I'll get the car as I haven't got an allocation just yet, but my dealer is confident that we'll get that in the next couple of months so I can lock down my spec before the end of the year. That would be perfect for me as ideally I'd like the car for 1st March next year for the new plate.
Hopefully I'll learn a few things whilst I'm here and can answer any questions anyone may have along the way.
Cheers.
Another GTS on order

Welcome - Have you decided on spec yet?
Nice one, congrats!
The Macan will be night and day to your X3M - those things have a horrible chassis and suspension setup compared to the Macan - X3M may be faster in a straight line, but certainly not round the twisties!

Gen 3 Macan GTS: PPUAVS94
I've spent quite a bit of time on the configurator (it really is quite addictive), and I've pretty much settled on the following

I think that's everything covered, but always happy to hear any comments/recommendations.

You have to be prepared to add a few more £ to your order as Porsche prices are rumoured to increase on October 3.Kiernan wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 11:22 amI've spent quite a bit of time on the configurator (it really is quite addictive), and I've pretty much settled on the following

That is very true. I went from X3 M40i to Macan S, and the difference is startling. The X3 is a great car, fantastic in fact. But the ride quality and handling are just in another league. So it the gearbox.Plyphon wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 11:19 am Nice one, congrats!

Two things I miss with the X3 though is I-drive with the rotary wheel. And the driving position.
To be fair, there's not a lot TO be added without getting very silly! I'd definitely add the spare wheel and probably delete the PTV but could happily live with the rest despite a lot not passing my Dad's "Will it make it go any quicker" testPorscheMack wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 11:26 amYou have to be prepared to add a few more £ to your order as Porsche prices are rumoured to increase on October 3.Kiernan wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 11:22 amI've spent quite a bit of time on the configurator (it really is quite addictive), and I've pretty much settled on the following

As you've gone carbon interior why not complete the job and do the sideblades too?

I'm not too keen on carbon on the outside of cars; love it on the inside, but as I've gone for the high gloss exterior pack, it should stop things looking too busy with lots of different finishes.
Having said that, I've got plenty of time to change my mind as I doubt I'll be locking my spec in for at least a couple of months - maybe longer!
