Hi,

This is my first post since placing an order for a Macan T in mid-March. Last week my SE advised my car had finally arrived in Sheerness and would be with the dealership next week. Then on Friday he advised that he'd rechecked the build sheet and my final spec changes 'were not accepted by Porsche in Germany'. So amongst minor cosmetic changes means no Pano roof, no leather package, no memory pack or speed limit indicator. At least the body colour and has been accepted!

I've been left with 3 options;
a) accept the lesser spec
b) they get me up the build schedule (timeline yet to be confirmed) or
c) deposit returned

At the moment I'm still to upset and annoyed to make a decision so would value others views especially those who may have faced a similar problem.

Thanks.

It’s more about whether you can accept the lesser spec and how much you value what’s missing, although it does seem they’ve missed off some pretty big ticket items.
Someone on here had same happen last year and they got a build slot (miraculously appeared) for eight weeks later. He got the car and a free service for his troubles so I might ask (demand) the next build slot.

Edit: this is almost certainly an OPC error of communication 🤔

Hi Jon A,
Thanks for the quick reply, do you recall whether it was 8 weeks until the build started or when the replacement was delivered?
Cheers

I think it was delivery but the member was “Karpa” so maybe he will come on here with details…

I wouldn’t call them minor cosmetic changes😡
Personally I couldn’t take that car with such major omissions.

I would have a look around at a nearly new S with the options you want at a similar price or a T if that’s what you really want.

At least some recompense should be offered 🤷‍♂️

I know how you feel, in 2007 my wife's Cayman turned up with automatic transmission when she'd ordered manual.

The OPC were terrible, had no sympathy and only reluctantly offered not to charge for the tiptronic auto (it was a cost option in those days) - which she rejected despite a hard sell on their part.

Went to the back of the queue and took delivery of the correct spec several months later. She was presented with a magnum of champagne which had clearly been in a cupboard for years as the box was dusty and tatty. To rub salt into the wound, it was corked!

This is such a sad thing..

Having experienced exactly the same thing in Australia I totally feel for you.

My order missed out on TJA and once it was picked up by our new SA (previous one left the business) they were quick to give me a new build slot in coming month. My car build is complete now and waiting transport.

If I was you, Pano roof is going to have impact on resale and that is important
