I am getting close to finalising the spec for our Macan GTS.

We have changed colour from Carmine Red to Carrera White Metallic as I wasn't totally happy with the shade of Red.

Is the £1154 Leather Interior option worth paying for? Do I need LED lights or are the Bi-Xenon's sufficient?

I've not gone for the reversing cameras or surround cameras as I don't have them on my X5 and don't feel the need for them. I have added the Driver's Memory Package as this allows the passenger side mirror to drop down when reversing so you can see the nearside kerb (A standard feature on the X5)

Am I missing anything that is a MUST or adding things that are not needed?

Final one, there is an option for the Outer Door Sill Guards in Carbon inc. Load Protection for £422. I know the car has stainless door sill guards as standard, but does it also have the load space protection in stainless or is this not included as a standard feature?

Two quick observations:

1. Pretty universal agreement that reversing camera is a minimum, surround view preferable.
2. There are people out there that have been starved of the opportunity over the last week to comment on posts such as yours...so stand by.

First new spec! have you been itching to post?

Why would you change from Carmine?! its the colour that will dance in your dreams!

Leather is upto you. we like the partial garnet in ours, but i understand that some people, dont like the plastic on show, so covering it in dead animal can help there!

LED lights is upto you. We have bi-xenon on our GTS and love them. They are bright enough for us. But again, many people will tell you LED lights are on no brainer for the price on the GTS. Upto you!

Surround cam is a must for me! Really helps with manoeuvring! But that said we went from an Audi TT to the Macan GTS, So as its bigger, really do need the cameras in central london!

If you're going for white I'd stick with the monochrome look. so black window trims, and maybe the gloss black handles. comfort lighting is nice to add. Adds all those interior lights you expect to come as standard! And changes all bulbs to LED. And maybe go for heated rear seats too? We went for just front and now, if we did it again, we spec them all round.

good luck!

I have the surround cameras in the McCann but not in the Boxster. I'd spec them again in a heartbeat. So handy when parking in carparks - getting between the lines and for knowing when to begin turning to avoid kerbing the wheels. The overhead view is truly wonderful, but the rest are just ok.

I have the beep beeps in the 718 and while good, they're not as good as the McCann system.

On correct parking, we have a local Facebook page imaginatively called "You Park Like a C***" where members of the public can photograph badly parked cars and post them up to ridicule the owners. It must work, because I'm paranoid about getting between the lines!

I've taken on board some of the comments and adjusted the car slightly.

Removed the LED lights and the chrome trim (Now black tailpipes and window surrounds) and added the Surround Cameras.

The car is going to be used by the wife so I don't want to go OTT, even though she will have it for 3-4 years. I'm also conscious of my budget and this just about keeps me inside my top end.

If you doubt RevCam or SuCam take out a demo Macan and try to parallel park it.

Huge blind area to rear quarter.

Xenons light up the road ahead well, LEDs light up the next County, but if you do not often drive along dark country lanes often then Xenons will be fine.

Martin your spec looks good.
Colour choice is great and I think because you have gone formthen21" wheels I would definitely go for surround cam. We love the surround cam and my wife can park it better than me now 😒
We have LED but Bi Xenons are still very good. It's not a lot more on a GTS to go to LED if budget allows.
We went for the full GTS leather and it is certainly NOT worth £2700 but it certainly does make it a lovely place to be.
Sport design mirrors I think make it look classy but as your car is black and white the standard ones looks great too.

Are you or your wife really going to use sport crono? I would certainly pick other options before picking this. If the car is going to be used by more than 1 person I would get the driver memory.
It's certainly going to be a fantastic drive 👍

Very rare that it will be used on B roads. We are 1 mile from M6 and the wife tends to go to work 8 miles away via motorway and town usage.

If we go any distance I am usually the driver and currently the X5 is the car of choice, but this may change when the GTS arrives :D

Will try the cameras at PEC next month and see what I think.

Sport Chrono I would possibly use, but the wife probably won't. Does SC give increased performance, or is it just a slightly quicker gear change and launch control?

Sports Chrono doesn't give improved performance no, though it's easier to exploit the performance without having to resort to kickdown.
You get (the potential for) sharper shifts, more track-oriented auto shifting (not so good on the road), telemetry recording/mapping and a nice[1] clock on the dashboard.
