The USA sales of the sports cars are down, hence it may be part due to the Stuttgart factory alterations.

Ah, good point, Col. :) :geek:

I see that in July, sports cars represented less than a quarter of Porsche sales in North America... :ugeek:

...or not. It might be the dollar, or Trump, or the hurricane , or consumer confidence, or any number of other factors.

I can't imagine for one moment that a factory upgrade involves closing one or more lines, laying staff off and reducing the number of cars being built.

I thought I read on here that the current factory upgrade involves a new, separate building on another site and that sports car production was not affected in the slightest? (Maybe it was in Nuclear Nick's recent factory visit report?)

Can't be the hurricane as they are July figures. I would have thought general confidence - how are other car sales for the period? And I would have thought anti-VW Group sentiment might also be playing a part.

That's right Paul. We were there in June and sports car production was going full speed, unaffected by the Mission E construction elsewhere on the site. I asked the question and was told production hadn't been affected at any time.

Might be worth asking if they have a GTS and/or Petrol S that you could try out too... ;)

Let us know your thoughts after the test drive/s. :geek:
