Welcome, Scooby! :)

What reason did the Sales Exec give for recommending that you don't spec Sport Chrono?

I retrofitted Sport Chrono on my Macan SD and it really makes a big difference.
So it must be much more impressive on the GTS.

Some argue that driving at high revs is better / the same by using manual shifting.
For me this argument is not valid. If you shift manually your gears, you have to exactly shift a the highest possible rev.
If you miss that point, the engine abruptly stays at 7000 rpm. This does not feel good ;-)

If you go in Sport+ it revs to the max and shifts automatically at the best point possible.
So you will never miss the optimal point.

So if you like to go sporty, Sport Chrono it is a must.

By the way, stating that sport+ is useless with Macan SD is complete nonsense.

What an unusual approach for a Sales Exec to take.

Many buyers appreciate the benefits of Sports Chrono and no doubt Porsche spent a lot of money developing it.

Maybe a buyer who only 'Drives Like Miss Daisy' would not benefit, but I wonder what the Sales Manager or Dealer Principal would say to the SE telling customers that Sport Chrono is a waste of money. 🤔

Drove my SD over the Hahntennjoch Pass earlier this year in Sport Plus with Sports Exhaust on and it was great fun. I’m not kidding myself, it’s no 911, but would have been less fun without those two things in my view.

I've got sports chrono on my GTS and haven't really ever used it. I have tried it a few times and it is a giggle but not really a practical proposition for every day use. I would order it again though as you kind of expect it on a GTS plus the clock on the dash is nice.

I mean, no optional extra on a car is cost effective is it?

Sport Chrono - you get a cool clock/lap timer thing on the dash. You get another button. It goes a bit quicker when you press it.

Seems like pretty good value to me!

My wife specced it on our car just for the aesthetics of the clock.

Get SC, as you like to press on it gives you the best options which you would not have without.
