Would always spec Sports Chrono on a GTS/S/Turbo - makes the car into a bit of a hoodlum!

I think it was Paul who posted that he didn't use it. It just wears out the brakes because you catch up the next car mroe quickly!

Paul has been a bit quiet lately. He's obviously too busy out having fun in his GTS, in Sport Plus mode, naturally! ;)

Hi all! Glad I've been missed...😂😂😂

Been away on the Canal du Midi for a couple of weeks with rubbish wifi (and frankly too much red wine in good company to bother with the forum!🍷🍷)

And yes, the sports chrono is great fun but virtualy unusable on the majority if the roads around here.

What does the S mean in GTS ? then you've got your answer,
I agree with Arif, SC is something you would expect in GTS. Actually it should be as standard :D

I debated SC on my turbo and went for it in the end and have no regrets. I hate the useless wart of a clock but Sport+ is good when pressing on. Even in a turbo to make rapid progress you have to ring its neck (a function of its lardiness) so I imagine the GTS is much the same or worse. I find Sport+ is uncannily good at being in the right gear at the right time.

Unless you're hell bent on having the questionable asthetics of the clock on the dash board, you can always have SC fitted later. In a rare quirk of Porsche aftermarket upgrade pricing, it's actually a couple of hundred quid less than the factory option (expensive clock I guess). You don't get launch control, but I doubt anyone uses that more than once just for the novelty factor.

For me it came down to the clock which I didn't like, and Sport does a great job a keeping the revs in the sweet spot when you're pressing on a bit.

I just checked the aftermarket fitting of sport chrono and it does still give launch control but with reduced revs initially.
I left it off my GTS, as my wife hated the clock and I always knew I could have it added later. I haven't found the need yet though, as sport and manual doing everything I need and already getting me scolded enough! Nice to know I can add it though.

I'm pretty sure there is a different throttle (and PDK) map with SC that you can't achieve manually. That being said I seriously doubt anyone can use the full benefits of S+ on a public road. I only ever use it with manual gear shifts and the throttle response makes for a lot of fun.
