Good to hear you've got a build slot, VanB.
I've had two silver Porsches and now a red one.
Both are great colour choices. Maybe silver is more classy. Red, to me, is a touch more sporty and individual. And Carmine Red is obviously closely linked to the Porsche GTS model line.
Indeed WingCo but I couldn’t bring myself to pay for the GTS interior in the end either (maybe I’m just tight). Hopefully Carmine will be standard on the Mission E hey?
As regards 'can't see why it costs so much' - that could be applied to very many Porsche options, including the infamous GTS interiors!

Yes especially a Macan GTS with a decent spec like yours.
But a 911 is just a different thing entirely and is an encridible car.
The whole Porsche experience is generally exceptional (well it has been for me anyway)

Well Van, thank you for the inspiration.
I have followed your lead and am now going for a Carrera GTS, two wheel drive in my case.
Today I have been going into some of the figures and must say I am very pleased. I have had an offer from a London Porsche group for the Macan which has me grinning from ear to ear. The local guys are seeing if they can match it, but whatever happens I am very happy.
Second piece of good financial news was when I called with my insurers NFU to see if they would cover the 911 and if they would what it might cost. Almost fell of the chair when they said the premium would go down from my present £360 to £310 for the 911 GTS
Need to get back on the configurator and add a few more extras lol

Excellent news, Rab! More exciting times! Keep us posted on your spec developments!
All this talk of 911s is not doing me any good at all!

Congrats and would love to see your spec. Also interested to know what you’ve been offered on the Macan vs purchase given age and mileage (feel free to PM).
I’ve kept going back and forth over my decision to change which is always resolved when I remember the test drive in the C4GTS .
Would also be interested to know what prompted you to go down this route.
WingCo you know you want to...

My heart belongs to a 911 but my head (and family responsibilities) say to stick with my 'practical' Panamera
I don't want the expense and hassle of running two cars, but I will have a 911 again in the future...!

I would love to keep the Macan too but can’t justify it and, as the kids have both gone, and the wife has a Q5 I can’t justify not getting the 991 while I can still get in and out of one! Such an amazing car...
