Hi, new to the forum. Currently have a 997 and a Cayenne and thinking about getting a Macan.

Is there any negotiating to be done with OPC’s on pricing on stock cars ? I know they can pretty much sell all they can get their hands on but near end of run before rumoured facelift etc!

Thanks !

Would depend on how many cars an OPC had in stock, how many they had coming in, how they are doing against overall sales target etc...but I would say yes and could be reasonable with, as you say, the facelift coming.

By all means, send me a PM with a desired spec for a Macan (variant, any key options etc.) and I would be happy to enquire through my contacts.

Welcome, 997 S! :)

Some good deals to be had on Macan SDs, I hear! ;)

No harm in trying for a discount on a stock petrol Macan. Nothing to lose and definitely worth shopping around a few different Porsche Centres!

Yes I’m sure on a “D” Our Cayenne is an S Diesel and love it but don’t want another on the drive right now.
Personally I think the Diesel thing is overblown as in it has a future as a fuel but clearly the emissions scandal is still having repercussions...

At the moment dealers are hoping to hit their targets due to the 18 plate. However if you are prepared to wait a while then you might find a dealer short on his targets for August (prior to the 68 plate). I bought mine mid February and benefited accordingly.
So when is this ‘old enough to know better’ supposed to kick in ?

Look at the question another way, What would you pay a dealer for your car in 2 years time, then take 5-7 k off the price.

There are those on here much more likely to know than me, but my guess would be around a £20k hit. My logic is that GTS residuals already seem to be softening a little, a facelift is due and in the absence of a diesel, supply of GTSs will likely increase as it is described by many as the sweet spot in the range.
