Hi, i'm interested in a new GTS but my local dealer says he has no idea when production will start up and how long the order book will be. ie he can only guess as to length of wait if i buy a new car. Does anyone here have any good insight as to production/delivery estimation if an order was placed in the coming weeks? Many thanks in advance.

The recent annnouncement states initial facelift model order book opens in September and if as past releases likely to be the S and Turbo models only. That would indicate earliest deliveries around March? If for a facelift GTS, based on previous release timings and dealer allocations/order book queue, just my opinion but be surprised if it's anything much less than two years before actual delivery?
If I wanted a GTS now there are a number of 2018 models with tiny miles for sale

I was in the same position, wait for a GTS or purchase the current model. I was lucky in the sense that my dealer had a brand new car in stock as I was informed the new GTS model would not be available to order until September 2019. Deliveries would then be into 2020 !
I couldn't wait so took the car and to be honest I'm really glad now I did.

I'm on the list for a revised GTS with my local OPC and have been told it'll be the back end of next year at the earliest before I get it. Hopefully that'll mean values on current cars will firm up a bit.

As all the above, I wouldn’t expect to be able to order a GTS until late 2019 for delivery early 2020 earliest

Thanks for the responses. looks like I'll have to go 'down' to S and spec that for next spring. Test driving one this Saturday so I'll see if i still like it!

You might find the that a slightly older GTS... say 8k cheaper than new ,might hold onto its value as well as a new spec s.... all a guess of course, logic being the GTS is always the most desirable model, however the new S might drive in the same way as the current GTS does .... now I’m confused  !
Macan GTS.Vol/ grey turbo 21s, Bose, Panroof, heated seats and steering wheel, 18 way , red belts, LEDs, light comf mem, privacy , compass, 18 spare wheel, aluminium inserts, auto dim mirrors, smoked,r/rails,p/assi. CAYMAN GTS now 😊

New S will be ok at holding value until the new GTS is released then it will effectively become a superseded model.

?? Don’t think that happened with phase 1......effectively £10K cheaper list price and slightly fewer annual sales in ‘17 and ‘18 makes it seem a good used prospect if specced right...
