As the above issue was raised in another thread, should EVs designs be different and if so, in what way?

I could never figure out why they made early hybrids so ugly. Toyota Prius and early Hondas especially. I'm not so fussed on the front look of the Tesla range either - maybe it's something to do with the lack of a front grille? Or maybe it's just me...

Yes.

They should look like the futuristic cars we dreamed of as young adults and not the butt ugly Jukes, Mercs, Lexus.

Porsche had the design with the Mission e but then that was screwed by the time it was faffed about with to produce the Tincan or whatever it is called.

I can guarantee that the designers would all love to see their creations come to the market adulterated but the small matter of regulation gets in the way - not to mention the consumer panels involving the generally conservative taste of Joe & Janet Public.

From the spyshots the Taycan looks very unlike the Mission e

It looks more like a Panny so how unexciting is that?

If Aston Martin can design stunners that comply with the Regs then surely Porsche could headhunt some decent designers to give their range a fresh look.

I personally think the production Taycan will be pretty close to the concept with some adaptations for practicality

If Tesla can design a stunning EV then so can others.
