It appears from the UK configurator that you cannot spec a sport exhaust on the base Cayenne.

Now available at the dealership configurator - oddly enought the dealership configurator has all the new 2019 options (likewise the USA and all of Europe if you want to browse what is new and available now) but the folks at Porsche seem lazy to update the available configurator on the website.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 9:50 pm It appears from the UK configurator that you cannot spec a sport exhaust on the base Cayenne.

I will probably be shot down in flames for saying this but, in my opinion, a sports exhaust system would be the very last thing that I would have on a new Cayenne. The beauty of the latest Cayenne is that it is very fast, extremely smooth and refined and unbelievably relaxing to drive due, in part, to it being so quiet. However, once you put your foot down, the engine note with the standard exhaust is really pleasant. To my mind, as soon as the novelty of the sports exhaust has worn off it would rarely be used.

Thanks, all opinions are good opinions and I tend to agree with your viewTrosley wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 1:34 pm I will probably be shot down in flames for saying this but, in my opinion, a sports exhaust system would be the very last thing that I would have on a new Cayenne. My V8 is too quiet & I miss the burble of the PSE that I had on my Macan. I’d have optioned if it was available when I ordered.Trosley wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 1:34 pm I will probably be shot down in flames for saying this but, in my opinion, a sports exhaust system would be the very last thing that I would have on a new Cayenne. I was genuinely contemplating retrofitting but as I’m now seriously swayed by the 992 I’ll probably hold off.

I am in the camp of sports exhaust being a pointless and expensive noise maker. Never used it in the Macan GTS was except when using sport and have not once turned it on in the 911 GTS other than when in sport mode.

Mine was free (GTS) and is the second button I press, after stop -start.
I enjoy the “barp” and pop on over-run, (and of course, better in sport mode) and really only turn it off on the motorway.
Would I have paid £1659 for it? Never! But because I’ve got it I shall jolly well carry on annoying the neighbours

+1. PSE came as standard on my car too!
I love the cracks and burbles on the over-run! Lovely jubbly!
I drive in Sport mode virtually 100% of the time, as I also like the auto rev-matching with my 7-speed manual transmission (no doubt sacrilegious to some purists)
