I know there are lots of treads on colour and this is another one (groan) but notwithstanding that it is very subjective/personal it is VERY important and (unlike BMW/Audi) there are few Porsche showrooms and many miles between them . . . so the ideal scenario of seeing 3 news cars in the 3 colours of your choice isn't easy (impossible). Then, to add to that, no help from all the 2nd hand Macans as are different versions/shades of blue/grey/silver. So here I am looking for opinion.
I have put down my deposit and after some wild adventurous moments in my head have succumbed to sanity (wife) and chosen agate grey leather seats (not red (my choice)). After that the choice of exterior colour is down to Dolomite Silver, Volcano Metallic Grey, or Navy Metallic Blue.
The car in the showroom was Silver (with (coincidentally) agate grey interior). I think the light grey interior with silver exterior is all a bit samey and ideally I'd like a contrasting darker shade of silver but there isn't one. I haven't seen a car in Volcano Metallic Grey, or Navy Metallic Blue in real life just pictures on the screen. The Volcano Metallic Grey looks very dark even black (I don't like black) Thee Navy Metallic Blue also looks very dark and I wonder about residuals with blue (sorry if you have a blue car)?
Have any of you seen a car Volcano Metallic Grey, or Navy Metallic Blue; what do you think?
Exterior Colour
My car is Volcano and it's very nice
My last one was Rhodium with Agate interior. I liked Rhodium, but not so much the agate - just a meh colour and it does look a bit brown in certain lights (typically later day daylight). Current Volcano car has black interior with carbon trims. Turbo Exterior Pack banishes all chrome/alu trims too. I like it.
Volcano looks blacker when clean. Looks greyer at all other times.
Indeed almost all colours look very different when clean.

I don't think of Agate as a "light grey interior", it's rather dark. Are you sure you were looking at Agate? Or was the interior actually Pebble Grey (which has Agate on the dash top and door tops).
Macan S collected 4 Dec 2017 - Jet Black, 20" SportDesign, Agate/Pebble, 18-way, Pano roof, Bi-Xenons with PDLS, Surround View, PASM, PS+, spare wheel, towbar.

Colours are very personal and I think it’s extremely difficult to get a genuine, measured response from a forum of people who have disparate views. However, I will try!
From my time on the forum it seems that there is a fairly even split between the darker colours (volcano grey and the like) or brighter colours(sapphire blue, Carmine red)
Unless you want to go with something wild I suspect you will be fine with anything.
Darker colours are harder to look after and keep looking pristine.
Personally I loved my night blue Macan. Such a rich colour which was very different in different lights

Here’s some pics of mine in Volcano, with contrasting high gloss black. Love the colour which has a very deep sparkle in sunlight. Hard to keep clean. Not as bad as black, but not far off to be honest. Would take it again in a hartbeat though.

I had an agate grey Boxster and agate Macan but now have a Volcano grey Macan. Prefer Volcano to Agate on the Macan although agate does not show the muck as bad.

Thanks - it does look about as close as you can get to black without being called black! (Love the wheels- WHY did they stop making them?)Orangebulldog wrote: ↑Tue Jan 01, 2019 10:29 am Here’s some pics of mine in Volcano, with contrasting high gloss black. I like the 3rd pic down which I presume is the Aagate? 4th pic down Volcano - again looks black to me (or too black to be called grey)?mark-yorkshire wrote: ↑Tue Jan 01, 2019 10:59 am I had an agate grey Boxster and agate Macan but now have a Volcano grey Macan.
