Hi and welcome.

There are plenty of posts here about air suspension but the starting point is usually the wheels that you have chosen.

The general gist appears to be 19 inch wheels and you are okay without air, 20 inch and it’s debatable, whilst 21 inch is almost a necessity.
My turbo has 21 inch wheels and air suspension so I am speaking from a biased position.
So when is this ‘old enough to know better’ supposed to kick in ?

Welcome.

Air, I have it, PASM only I had that on my first Macan.

Both Macans on 20” wheels.

Air gives a good increase in ride quality over a PASM only Macan but not vastly so.

Would I specify Air again, yes.

For you, or rather your Wife, the only way to be sure is to have a long test drive of a Macan with Air, and the same type of seats (14/18 way) that you are specifying. Note how it rides and if there is any feeling of the car wallowing and inducing motion sickness. Try the three different settings plus put it in low ride mode and try all three settings again.

We had a member here who suffered very badly, so much so she swapped her Macan for one without Air. I hasten to add that the replacement Macan only lasted a very short time before that to was swapped for a 911.

I have had a Macan on loan with what was standard 18” wheels and Air and the ride quality was sublime.

Thanks for the replies so far chaps

The car will be on 21s so it was defo going to have PASM or Air ! She currently has a 981S with PASM on 20s and have no complaints on the ride.

Part of the thinking on the air is the ability to lower it, we have a big dog that doesn't jump in the car...….

What I don't want to do is ruin the dynamics of the car by having the air - has that ever been suggested?

I have a current shape AMG E Class which has air and I've not noticed an wallowing at all so am hoping the Macan wouldn't suffer with that ?

I did wonder about car sickness, not something we have ever been concerned with. Presumably putting it a in a more sporty setting would help for anybody that might suffer with that?

Mine’s on 20” and air. I run it all the time in sport suspension and lowered. I only notice very slight floatiness in comfort setting on the motorway. Quite a few members on here say they cannot detect any similar sensation.

It’s great to have ability to change the settings though for different circumstances.

You don’t need to worry about the car’s dynamics, just watch an instructor driving one around the Silverstone PEC circuit!

My spec is now locked, going in to build in April.

Kind of wish I’d ordeeed adaptive cruise now but too late.

Also had the letter from the PEC saying their S models arrive early April.

Mrs wants to wait until she has had the car for a bit before she does that event though.
