Can’t quite see how other ships being delayed should cause your Macan to sit at Sheerness for 10+ days? If anything, with other ships being delayed, I would have thought that was an impetus to clear Sheerness port of all cars already sitting there?

Frustrated it all happened after completing the deposit, interesting Opc said every client cleared the balance as well in a timely manor. I have requested it is returned, I can clear it again once I get a firm collection date. Wonder what they will respond.
FWIW I paid for mine by card as I was picking it up; cleared funds are cleared funds (but I did get chance to inspect it first)
I guess it depends on the various dealership’s “policy”

Sounds like they wanted their money before the end of the first financial quarter! We are experiencing a similar situation with the local Dacia dealer over exactly the same timeframe!Cosminu wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 4:32 pm Has anybody experienced large delays in deliveries due to the bad weather conditions some 2 weeks ago. Opc contacted last monday their are trying to deiver our macan on the 29th and the balance of deposits needs to be cleared. Once done, we keep getting excuses only for today to be told it is still in Sheernes port for the last 1 1/2 weeks. Is this some sorry excuse to get people to pay in advance or has somebody else genuinely experienced this issue?

This. Not only end of Q1, but likely end of their financial year, so those £££s gathered by 31st March could well make a big difference to bonuses!!

....well, not really. Cash flow and balance sheet / shareholder profit absolutely, but targets and bonus are only paid on vehicle registration.....and this is also when the dealership pay Porsche for the vehicle.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 9:08 amThis. Thanks, Paul. So is this (the highlighted bit) true of every manufacturer, company, group & dealership?Paul wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 9:48 am....well, not really. Can’t speak for every manufacturer Simon, but certainly every franchise I ever held only “counted” the car when it was taxed.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 3:17 pmThanks, Paul. Cheers,
Dealerships may pay sales staff on order-take and then claw-back if the order is cancelled for example but really until the car is registered and therefore paid for, the sale hasn’t fully completed.
