Hi All
I got a quote from my OPC to add GTechniq Ceramic Coating to my Macan S before I take delivery in June!
He quoted £599 ... just wondering if anyone else has got this done and what did you get quoted/pay for it.
Thanks
GTechniq Ceramic Coating
My OPC quoted the same. I suspect many pass the work on to a nearby detailer. Some argue going to a detailer direct for the same work is better value and a better guarantee of a better job for similar money. You loose your new car for about 2 days and it, therefore, can be more convenient for the OPC to "arrange" it before delivery

Same quote £599 from my opc, but does not include detailing, just cleaning by valeters then ceraminc coating, detailing extra £200. Total £799
Quote from accredited Gtec detailer £850 + vat 9 year guarantee, with inspection every 2 yrs for any minor top up that is required,
Have seen his work and it is outstanding, think will go down this route.

Amf, you need to be careful here. I've had my 3 cars done in the last year or so. Like you, I was offered the service by a dealership but it transpired that this was Gtecniq Platinum or some such name. This product is something that sells through dealerships and is branded accordingly. I was told by a reliable source that it is not as good as what is offered by a GTechniq specialist, and not just because the latter has more experience with the product.
I paid £490 for the Serum Light, £80 for Exo V4 and £50 for Wheel Armour. With my local GTechniq specialist, there's always been room for a bit of negotiation. The Exo is really worth it, giving the car a glass like finish.

The product you quote is Gtechniq platinum which is only sold by dealers. For me it’s not so much the product but who applies it that is the most important.
I have all my cars Gtechniq CS Black with Exo V3.
Had the Macan done Over 2 years ago and has been a fantastic product and working well still (car is garaged).
I had this done by a fully qualified detailer which is Gtechniq accredited. It does cost a little more but well worth it with a 7 year warranty from memory.
They had the car for 4-5 days and do every single item inside out / underneath etc.
My detailer has a 3 month + waiting list
My OPC did not wash or touch the car and it was sent for full machine polish before the products were applied.
If you do not plan to wash your own car then don’t bother with any of it as it will be a waste of time.

If you had searched prior threads you will have found this monster that goes into detail (bad pun intended)

I got some good freebies t porsche but all I wanted was an umbrella....
Kids got loads of goodies but I still didn’t get an umbrella.
Maybe I won’t take the kids with me next time

The other half negotiated that. Threatened to walk away from a £65k car without it. Looked him straight in the eye and said, "if you think I'm joking, try it". Umbrella on the passenger seat... . I must admit, that was a squeeky bum moment!Kasfranks99 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 8:56 pmI got some good freebies t porsche but all I wanted was an umbrella....

Negotiating is all part of the fun. Some like it and some hate it. My Mrs hates it. Lucky I love it
Back on topic though a free swissvax is better than paying for it
