A warm welcome hawk.cat. Yes there's a huge choice of options with Porsche. You can set a budget or the total cost of options are as a percentage of the base price. All this depends on a variety of considerations - PCP/Finance/HP/cash purchase and your intended duration of ownership etc.

Do look at as many physical cars as you can to see and experience your preferences. Some are obvious - metallic paint - and some are not, for example the smokers pack for the central instrument switch stack. The latter is to cover the "hole" that;s there as standard and not to make you a smoking driver

Seats - do try the 3 different versions and ideally on an extended test drive.

Some options are confusing - PASM or / and AIr Suspension - but do make a difference to your enjoyment of your Macan.

Others that are not obvious include painted or carbon side-blades and body coloured rear section - both worth considering.

So do take your time reading through the very long list of options carefully. Then talk through your chosen options with your OPC's SE too.

This forum will provide a wealth of information and be able to answer your specific questions. Good Luck :D

Must have extras . . . . In my time on this forum many have posted their 'code' and I have looked at all of those specs and (apart from heated front seats and privacy glass) I would struggle to identify significant 'extras' that are on every car but although the choice of this or that 'extra' varies the numbers (£'s) are quite consistent . . . . very few, if any spend less than 10k on extras and off the top of my head would say that most specs include between 10k and 15k extras.

Left to me, I'd spend no money on wheels and paintwork and just buy as much tech and performance as I can afford. Unfortunately, my wife wants the exact opposite :-(

Hi hawk.kat and welcome to our friendly forum. :)

That’s a nice, stealthy looking Macan that you’ve specced. 8-)

While there are no ‘must haves’ you may wish to consider a heated steering wheel and the spare wheel.

Cheers,
Simon

So you’re going for the Macan S then...? ;)

I’m with your wife in as much as wheels and paint make an enormous difference to the look & character of a car.

On paper, it looks like the V6 is the default choice of one cares about performance etc but I think the need to keep to legal limits and the realities of city driving mean that neither engine would be stretched in practice.
Furthermore, and perhaps for these reasons, some reviewers have commented that the 2L is more rewarding to drive because the engine is made to work a little harder. Well, I will hopefully find out later this morning.

Suggest you see the tinted rear light bar which i would describe as clear rather than dark tinted.

Yes, intend to make it as b&w as possible.

Btw is anyone driving a "budget" [emoji16] Macan with minimum optional extras? What's that experience like?
