Their body shop/paint shop department has an even more comical name to some - Dick Lovett Spraymaster. ;)

Paid cash for my Macan Petrol S (sold) and 911.C2 by bank transfers.

My bank told me it was up to the manager if they charged me for using CHAPS, i did explain it was Lloyds to Lloyds, but still i might have been charged, i had also asked my bank if they could put a note on the system to say I was making a large payment of £****** to Porsche by debit card and was told no they could not and it may be picked up by the fraud team or not.

So I bought both by bank transfers to the max of £25k a day.

Bit of a problem with my 911, picked it up on a Saturday, I had paid all the monies but on the system it showed I was £25K short and my SE could not call his HO ( closed) to see if had actaully gone through, he let me take to car, and send me a full receipt in the post.

Well my heart just bleeds for them!!
...and they get charge pence per transaction on Debit Cards (50 - 75 pence)

Yes, they will suffer a percentage on the transaction amount (typically 1.5%) on CREDIT cards but not on debit cards (caps for the benefit of your sales exec who doesn't actually know!)
Depends on their contact. Barclaycard arbitrarily changed ours from 17p per debit card to 0.6%. They did drop credit card to 0.9% so it all evened out over the course of a year

Yep, I had same issue, I’d max’d online line limits leaving £17k to pay on the day. Dealer said he could not do a debit card due to the 0.3% fee, £51 quid!! A quick 😤, he spoke with his boss & all was fine. I’d deliberately done the transfer before midnight worried that there may be a limit, but got caught out as limits apparently don’t reset at midnight, but at 18:30 😣

My OPC won't take debit cards for anything other than the deposit. It seems to be the OPCs that are directly owned by Porsche that have this policy.
HSBC would not transfer the balance by phone, had to go into a branch to arrange it at cost of £17.00. The other option which is what I did was to transfer £25k per day online. Money cleared very quickly.
