Hi all,

I had a 2020 Macan S order that was supposed to go into production 20th of July, complete 28th and be on its way for mid July delivery.

OPC called me today to say all Macan S are allegedly delayed for September, so if car is not yet here in the UK for some reason it won’t arrive since September.

He couldn’t tell me why, just that Porsche GB communicated it to all dealers today.

Anybody heard anything similar ?

Intereseting that your original date was 20th July as this seems to be during the Leipzig factory summer closure.

Quote ... Porsche Leipzig will be closed from the 13th of July 2019 till the 4th of August 2019 due to the summer holidays and scheduled maintenance work.

Not sure why this would only affect the "S" however builds after the closure not arriving until September seems about right. At least you will get a 69 reg plate.

Actually I mistyped in my original post, car should have been produced by now. 20-28th June. So well before the factory closure for the summer.

Unless dealer got that wrong too and would have been later hence the jump to September for seemingly no reason.

Mine should have been built last Friday and not heard from my dealer of any delays. I should be receiving delivery mid to end of July so I’ll keep you posted if I hear anything

depends on who shouts the loudest, as the system is so automated it will take human intervention to change a date.

Just got an email from Porsche Leicester:

"Unfortunately we have just heard from Porsche GB that the WLTP paperwork will not all be completed until mid August

This basically means the vehicles wont be released from the German docks until this is sorted

The vehicle will finish production in the next few days and start its journey to us but will be halted at the docks until mid August when the paperwork is complete for it to leave the country. This isn’t just your vehicle but will be the case for all Macan S that are coming."

My build was due to complete tomorrow.

My S is due to complete production on 7 July.

Only today my SE sent a list of ‘19’ plate registrations for me to choose from. So he is clearly not expecting (or aware of) delays until September.

I'd be asking him questions

My OPC told me on the 27th of April, whilst test driving a 992, that there was another extended factory shut down planned because of WLTP and it would affect sales & delivery of current vehicles this summer. Guess he was right.

I think this concerns cars already produced too.. which is absurd.

I might cancel my car..
