I’ve been updated today that my Macan S is at Emden, waiting for the Certificate of Conformity, along with the rest of the UK bound Macan S vehicles.
The expected ETA on the paperwork being supplied by the testing body is the last week of August.
So maybe a mid Sept delivery?
Delayed delivery to September

Just had this from my OPC
"Just to give you a quick update, we have spoken to Porsche this morning and hopefully to have the COC data around the 16th August. "
Asking if I want the car then or wait until Sept for new registration. Apparently it wont effect residual values if I take an older plate but I think for the sake of two weeks I am going to wait until Sept

Well I guess having the data doesn’t equate to when the car is available for you to collect, so it might drift into September.Fusion1966 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 1:38 pm Just had this from my OPC

Did they tell you an older plate would not affect residuals? Do you think that’s true?

Absolutely will effect residuals! How else are used cars valued?! (all other things being equal)
Wait until sept 1st.

they did state that yes however why take the risk for the sake of two weeks!
Macan S delivered 2nd Sept 19: http://www.porsche-code.com/PKNURCB9
Probably on the basis that was what a dealer will tell you at part ex time.
Selling privately will make no difference as somebody will go for the car they want and not the plate !

Davidone, and tracky, there have been many debates on here in the past over whether or not the “plate” has an effect on residual values.
As I said, all other things being equal, for a trade or private sale, a 2016 16 will always be worth less than a 2016 66 (taking the case of a 3 year old car)
Look at any valuation guide and there is always a clear distinction between year and plate - not as big as in the past when there was only one plate change a year but still a difference.

Interesting view from my SA in Newcastle. He suggested losing the CofC could be catastrophic for residuals and changing something like the wheels for after market jobs would render the CofC useless anyway.
Can’t see it myself. I produce CofC’s with the goods I manufacture and it’s just a box ticking exercise to satisfy multi-national procurement offices, if you ask me.
The usual “this is his/my opinion” disclaimers apply so please don’t roast me.
