I wsn't until you pointed it out :( 718 GTS has similar openings and I think thre is a mod that can be applied. I guess I will have to see. Not the same on Gen 1 GTS?

JohnP wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:45 am Looks like you're going to beat me to it, kmacuk. My OPC phoned on Monday to say my car was in the UK, but awaiting transport from the docks. They've got a few things to do before I take delivery, but I'm hoping that I'll have it by next weekend.

Yours looks great in Sapphire, by the way...
I think we might be close, just visited detailer and he is booked this week and so I am still looking at week of 23rd and collection from dealer likely to be weekend of the 28th.

The silver I saw in the dealership also looked good, keen to see your pics. I am happy I made the move from Volcano to Sapphire. Will post detail pics after pickup.

The GTS 2.9L is rated at 218 CO2 emissions (g/km). Currently [March 2020] the first year RFL rate is £1280.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... e-tax-v149

According to this article, from April 2020 it increases to £1305 or is it + 325? = 1630?
https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/tax-i ... -20202021/

However my OPC says that official April rates have not been published yet.....

I think the first year excise duty all depends on how the Macan GTS is classified. I'm not very good (understatement  ) at inserting data into a forum message, the information directly below is copied from a table showing the new rates. Below that is data copied from the Porsche Technical Data sheet for the GTS. If the NEDC Equivalent value of 218g/km is accepted then the GTS falls into Band K and the first year rate is £1280. However if the model range combined emissions range is used then the car is in Band M and the first year figure is £2135. I don't pretend to know the right answer but I will find out the hard way in July.

VED Band CO2 Emissions (g/km) First-Year Rate First-Year Rate for non-RDE2 Diesels Alternative Fuel Vehicles

Yes, it goes up by the best part of a grand. So whatever you do, try and get it registered in March.

It goes from £1,280 on 31 March to £2,175 on 1 April.

My OPC indicated all Porsche cars will move to the maximum £2135 when the new VED rules kick in, but he was not sure why. I think its because every potential combination of options requires to be tested separately for WLTP. I think Porsche have decided that’s not possible for them to do, unless like other manufacturers they go to fixed optioned cars, as they want to keep personalised options and its not possible to test every combination they are instead defaulting to the highest rate. I am sure this is why we are not seeing this broadcast on Porsches web site etc.

Indeed, almost all Porsche models will move to the maximum £2,175 from 1 April. The only exceptions are the Taycan, the Cayenne e-hybrid and - I believe - one Macan base model.
