Hi everyone,

I was wondering wether the foglights of a macan S is always Halogen regardless of the lightning package you have?

I have never turned on my foglights so I don’t even know what colour my foglights are.
Right now the car is at a dealer so can’t check either

My car has the bi xenon and comfort light package

Always halogen an therefore 'yellow' in comparion to xenon and LED. Even PDLS+ has halogen bulbs in the 'fogs'.

If you've never turned on the foglights, is it worth spending on replacement bulbs?

Don't think they are legal in fog lights in EU

I put these in to match LED headlights - no error codes, easy swap, passed MOT even though ‘technically’ illegal.
Huge debate rages of course between halogen and led fog legality and performance but put simply the original halogen fogs ‘look‘ awful!!
These look fabulous :D

Thanks all for the replies. I just cant stand halogen bulbs on a ‘premium’ car even tho I will hardly use it. But can’t imagine they are really expensive so why not.

@b737

Are these just plug and play? Were they hard to install?

Yep - simple 'plug and play' with no error codes or flickering. Quality bulbs from Philips - had them in our 2016 Macan for around 3 years with no issues.
If you search the forum you will find installation instructions but you basically use a strong hook through tiny hole in plastic shroud and pull hard! Tabs are strong so no risk of breaking them, then unscrew lamp and replace bulb - simples!

1st photo shows shroud released with a complete replacement led foglight from a BMW I believe.

2nd photo shows the small hole where you need to use a strong 'centre cap' puller or similar to remove. Picture shows Philips ultinon bulb installed with nice silver top finish.👍

Glad I saw this a year ago...kind of proved to me that £175 labour quote for a broken lamp replacement by an OPC was extreme.
