I was booked in for Warranty Work to sticky tow bar but discovered fairly late on that they were not doing courtesy cars. I didn’t have alternative transport available so pulled out. Is this standard across the country?

You say you "discovered fairly late". Did you request a courtesy car when you made the original booking? Have they reneged on that request?

The booking was made without reference about a month in advance. I enquired about a week beforehand about the car and was advised the day before they were not available.

Mid Sussex were slow to get courtesy cars going but I think they do now unless that was just for me as a big spender last year !

I think the problem was with the deep clean between customers.

Is there anything in Warranty T&Cs regarding a temporary vehicle?

Mine is in for tyres and MOT next Monday, but I booked specifically with a courtesy car (always do). My OPC is 30 miles away, so they'd better not let me down?

Agreed you must always specify well in advance that you need a courtesy car. I have always got one, from Tewkesbury or Swindon, regardless of what I’m having done.

Coincidentally I booked in my winter wheel/tyre set swap over yesterday. I said I’d like a courtesy car and gave them a range of dates. I’ve got a courtesy car for November 27th for the day. (The price for swaps & storage has gone up, a lot, but that’s a separate matter.)

Was this Belfast Tom? If it was they phoned me recently about a service due on my now sold GTS. I didn’t say it was sold but said it would be serviced elsewhere. The lady then tried to tell me all the benefits offered by servicing at an OPC which she clearly said as the first point provision of a courtesy car.
