https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-nationa ... -november?

That is how I read the guidance issued tonight except for the implication of the reasons to leave home restrictions. Last time the industries official guidance did say workshops could remain open but most OPC's owners took the opportunity to take furlong money. for both showroom and workshop staff. It will be interesting to see what happens this time round

Hmm, my car is with the OPC now for some work. Hoping this doesn't delay it coming back.

I have a visit to Portmouth OPC on Tuesday to have winter wheels fitted. They have asked to have the car a Gen2 2019 Macna S for a total of three hours to do some recall campaign work. As I missed the 1st phone call I do not yet know what it is about, Could be rear sheet/ fuel filter issue 2018 and earlier cars to subject to or transfer box oil change? if the appointment goes ahead as it should being before Thursday I will report back

Booked in to collect my new Macan Thursday ,12.30pm. Hopefully they can do it Wednesday, but dealer says they have 30 new cars going out this week. All to do with backlog from the factory and port holdups. They all came at once!!!!!!!!! Thinking it might be December now before we have it.

showrooms will be closed understandably as a result of the new guidance, however I wonder if they will allow collection of vehicles during the period this time around.....

Or home delivery.

I had mine delivered to me on 1 June in an enclosed specialist's vehicle delivery truck as arranged and paid for by my OPC.

I think a lot could depend on how the corporate layers at the centre of dealer groups that own most OPC's react to the regulations when and if Parliament approves them in the middle of the coming week. In Lockdown One some of those lawyers seemed to take a different tighter view re workshops than the lawyer(S) at the representative body for the motor trade.

Also the availability of furlong money can colour the spectacles.

Be interesting to see what they do

Assume some dealers will keep workshops open as that should be clear in the guidance

Our Seat is due it’s first service next week so will see that they say.

Latest government guidelines state:

'Non-essential retail can remain open for delivery to customers and click-and-collect'.

So, reading between the lines I cannot see why an OPC should close if they have got cars ready for delivery.
