Diesel S - first impressions

DO NOT LIKE Coast function!!! Firstly, out of the corner of your eye, you notice the revs drop like a stone on lift off, then you look down and simultaneously think "WTF", then out of your peripheral vision you notice that you are gaining rapidly on the car in front, which has good old fashioned engine braking! Then you hit the brakes! So, I've saved a few millilitres of fuel but vapourised brake material instead - which is cheaper? I have no idea!
Still glad I went for a petrol S with PSE! Happy Christmas to me! Not long now!


According to the Porsche App "Good to Know", Coasting or Gliding is disabled when Stop/Start is disabled.

According to the Porsche App "Good to Know", Coasting or Gliding is disabled when Stop/Start is disabled.

And the Sport button does too!Wink
And another thing - how cheap and nasty is the key?! The key on my wife's Touareg is a lovely solid, chunky bit of kit, unlike the Porsche offering!

The horrible piece of plastic they call a dummy key is my reason for not ordering the car with keyless go!
It looks SH1TE,!
I have a Passat CC which has a nicer key than our X5.
