Surround camera is well worth speccing and glad I did. It's saved my alloys when parking and got me in and out of tight parking spaces. Will never go without this option in future.

Reminds me of a time when my Mrs used to have Audis and her new 3.2 TT got written off on the boat over to the uk

Audi UK put her in this top spec Q7 while they built her another TT

We went to Guildford and parked in a tight multi storey car park. She was driving and perfectly parked the car (she had barely driven)within the lines (without surround cameras 😏)

As she was gathering her stuff together we noticed that the car beside us had people in it and because of the size of the space compared to the car, they probably couldn’t actually get out ! 😂

She did the right thing and drove out and found another space

Camera on out 2016 Audi Q7 was far superior to that on macan II. Macan is on a par with the XC90.

Didnt realise you could clean it, one to try tomorrow

So rolling back a bit.. Gen 2's have a skoosher on the rear view camera activated with the rear wash wipe? Didn't know that.. will check that out shortly when the Mrs comes back in.

I'd agree that the rear camera image quality is pretty good, but I don't really warm to camera's for some reason, I like the full screen display with the car and the sensors and use that more - only time camera is good is when parking somewhere with bushes etc. I'd also say that the sensors are far too sensitive and get to a solid beep when there is still space. Better that than the other way around though I suppose.

Is there a calibration for the sensors? my 981 is much more in line with actual proximity of obstacles

What’s a ‘skoosher’?

I agree with the camera comments. I only use mine to locate the mark on the garage floor so I know when to stop reversing!

Yes, very frequent comments on here re sensitivity of beepers. Sadly there’s no sensitivity adjustment. You can temporarily turn them off when queuing in traffic but don’t forget to turn them back on!

skoosher....I've never heard of that expression.

The water jet wash nozzle, positioned right next to the rear camera on the Gen 2, works surprisingly well.

Even here in rural mudforshire. :?
