Rear camera

My rear view camera along with the surround view i use all the time, in fact with21" Turbo wheels i view them as essential when parallel parking.

I must say my first impressions of the picture quality are poor.

Yes it obviously gets dirty however it’s poor when it’s just been cleaned.

The wife’s M2 on the other hand is shocking. Like a taking a photo with a 1megapixel camera.

Can the camera be upgraded at all? I agree it's a really poor image quality.

Same here - image nowhere near bad quality.
Perfectly satisfactory even to read the small print on items just as you're about to hit, err, miss them

+1 on the surround camera. Brilliant piece of kit. Anyone who says otherwise either didn’t spec it to save a couple quid or is in denial haha

The quality seems perfectly usable but it does depend on what you are used to previously. My f pace reversing camera was high definition so I noticed straight away but it doesn’t detract from the function as completely fit for purpose in the Macan.

The wife’s evoque on the other hand is also high definition but the fish eye distortion that skews each side of the bumper to 45 degree angles is terrible, and a complete head f***

We had surround on the Nissan leafs we had for the dog before the Seat.

I can’t see it was that useful hence not added to either of the P cars

Surround becomes more useful as the size of the car increases and garages and parking space decrease.

Also, I have an exit from my drive on to the main rd through the village but with both BMW 3 series and Macan bonnets cannot see a road view until sticking out into the road. The panorama front view solves this. Nence it also becomes useful at some road junctions with the rear panorama view when reversing out of spaces.
