I like heated screens but they have equiped the macan with a screen button on the left above gear lever which gives you full heat and full power upto the screen and it works a treat ,
at least you dont have to flaff about, just press and it clears quickly ,,very handy

All is not lost and this is standard for a change

It certainly worked this week in -2 degrees jonmacan2014-11-27 20:38:51

Thanks Jonmacan, answered my question about the defrost button. There was something very satisfying when watching the ice melt with an electrically heated screen tho. Handy for demisting without making the car stuffy too.

Where does the heat come from? Surely the engine needs to be warm first?
Diesel S ordered September 2014, delivery schedualled September 2015.

Without sounding like a brand snob Paul, that is one hell of a jump from Skoda to Macan...

Of the 3 cars in our household, 2 are Skoda's...I've been really impressed with my Octavia VRS..the boot is huge and it's better built than my old Golf GTI. I would probably have bought a Yeti if they did a VRS model...needed something higher to cross a road that floods..but needed something that handled like a hot hatch...the Macan was the only option! Smile
Strangely I've found my Porsche dealer very friendly and warm (like my Skoda dealer)..not like my old VW dealer who used to make you feel about as welcome as a fart at a funeral! Ouch LOL

Shame about the lack of heated screen but it sounds like they've gone some way to compensate with their 'defrost windscreen' button. I notice that they mention an 'Auxiliary Heater/Additional Heater' in the manual which can be operated via the 'Aux Heating' menu in the multi function display. I wonder if this option is available for the UK?
The Aux heater can be set to come on at a certain time or switched on via remote (500 metre range). I hope this information is helpful.

I had an Aux Heater in an X5 I bought many years ago. Was great when it worked, too often it didn't tho! Diesel heater warmed the engine and ran climate control. No cold start rattle and car was toasty inside. Used to roll out of bed, kept the remote on my bedroom window sill. We get pretty harsh winters up here in the North... Haven't seen it in the options list, I would consider it again so long as it wasn't silly price.

Does any member know if the Autonomous braking is to be introduced on the Macan, insurance companies seem to encourage this as it prevents most of the low speed rear end shunts.
