Macan to get four-cylinder engine range

Auto Car have just posted up information about the four-cylinder engine range that some have talked about on the forum (http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/porsche-macan-get-four-cylinder-engine-range).

In the article they say "The four-cylinder petrol and diesel options are expected to be offered from 2015. The entry-level petrol side is tipped to be a turbocharged 2.0-litre unit with 280bhp. Also set for introduction is a 2.0-litre turbodiesel in a price-leading Macan Diesel."

Speaking about the new engine Dr Thomas Casper, manager of transmission and drivetrain development said: "I can't tell you the exact month, but sometime in 2014, perhaps at the end."

Casper admitted the sound the engine makes is a "top priority," but promised the four-cylinder Macan will still be a "proper Porsche."

The new model will slot in below the three-launch models.
