Just had the 2nd service done at 34k and just under 4 years. The PDK service was due at 40K so I declined that for now. Before I left the dealer I checked the next service in the car and it is saying oil again in 10K miles - is that right? I asked the service desk and they said yes it is correct. The first oil change, before I purchased it, was done at 15K so the car has done 19K since the last oil change.

The car service indicator now says service in 20K, service in 40K and finally oil in 10K - confused!!!

So some questions:-

1. Does that oil change sound right?
2. Why has the PDK service in 5.5k miles gone?

My 2017 SD had a 4 year / 40k service and PDK service last month. Interim service and oil change both show due in approximately 20k / 2years.

My ‘15 plate was certainly on 2 yr / 20 K intervals with no condition based interim oil service.

Can’t speak for the later models (although with the same engine you’d think there would be no need to change)

1. Yes. Mine defaulted to that because it was a worst case estimate. The display changed out to the expected 20k once I'd driven it a few times.

2. I don't think the PDK service has ever been listed on the MFD as a separate event.

Thanks everyone. Guess I will have to leave it a bit and see what happens.

Mine is always about 3k ahead of the service with the oil change. I checked with the OPC and they said just to ignore it.

Interesting. I am planning to get the 40k major service (including the oil change). Equally at 34k miles. Deciding to get the PDK oil change as it is 40k or 4 years (or 6?). The reminder says interim service due now... surely it is a major 40k service? Is it 40,000 / 4 years or 40,000/ 6 years....for the PDK transmission oil change?

In July 2019, I had the PDK oil change at 37k at the same time as the four year service on my SD. That was because I didn't want to take the car back in 3-4 months later just for the PDK service. Because of lockdowns, my current GTS has only covered 1k miles in the last three and a half months (none at all in 2021). Faced with the question of doing the PDK oil change early today, I would certainly decline. The two posters having a service at 34k might well take anything up to a year to cover 6k miles.

The PDK change interval was originally 40k/4yrs but went out to 40k/6yrs some time ago, certainly before 2019.
