I guess I can only make the decision by getting into a Macan and close the blind, so will speak to the OPC on how possible that will be in the current climate - I suspect not easy though!

If I'm spending £1000 just to get £1000 back at the end, then there seems little point. My last 4 BMW's have all had light interiors, so this will be a decade since I've had a dark interior, hence the indecision. I don't want the hassle of leaks and I guess the weight will be slightly lower too (and marginal CoG).

90% of the pan roof is behind the driver's head anyway!

The windscreen lets plenty of light in, and that's generally the direction you should be facing

That was my own conclusion as the back seat of my cars gets used about once a year. I solved the dark black interior issue by going for the partial leather red. option

Complete glass roof on my current Cayenne coupe, tried it a few times with blind open but didn't like it especially at night when the street lights above were distracting. Its amazing how many people add a pano roof not for themselves but for resale. True you will get a good percentage of the cost back but certainly not it all.

Are the kids going in the back? If so, do them a favour and get the sunroof, it’s a much brighter and a more pleasant space with it.

If you’ll have passengers in the back then worth getting the pano - it’s a dull place to be for them otherwise
