Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and would be really grateful for a bit of advice please. I have a 2019 Macan S, which has done 6k miles. Yesterday it flashed up an oil change message. I called the dealer and booked it in for end of April (the first opportunity for a loan car!), which they said should be fine. They have sent me a quote for the oil change service - £540!
The car is 2 years old in September, and I've always understood the service interval for a Macan to be 2 years. So as it stands, I'll be back at the dealership in less than 6 months for another £500+ main 1st service.
I think it is a bit odd to say it's a 24 month service interval but then not mention the oil service needed in the 1st year which costs about as much as a main service. I had a 2016 Macan S Diesel before this one, and I can't remember a separate oil service required for that.
Does anyone know if this is normal?
Thanks very much for any help
Macan S oil service
Probably doing such a low mileage in that time and possibly lots of short trips during the pandemic?
What does your service indicator screen show for the time and mileage until the next oil change and service?

Sounds like they are charging for full service instead of oil.
I paid £233 for wife’s for similar mileage

Car Macan S delivered Apr 19. Mileage 1st year 10500 and at that stage projected 1st oil change at 19500. Mileage now 13300 after just two three day holiday 600-mile trips in Uk in early Autumn, three 200 mile trips pre October and otherwise a typically once a week start-up of 30 to 40 miles for essential food shopping, always ensuring car gets fully warm i.e oil temp in '90s before being put away. Projected oil change still up at 18500. In practice booked in for two-year service, oil change and brake fluid in late March when I suspect mileage will be 13800.
If an oil change is done after 18 months on a car, unlikely OPC will do another oil change 6 months later at the time of two-year service.
There is another thread on the forum with post-2019 model year cars only doing short trips showing a dramatic drop in milage to 1st oil change mainly die to contaminants from a cold start not being cleared by reaching a full working oil temp.

Interesting, thanks. That could be it. Lesson learned!

Fair to say that sometimes it's cheape, or at least better value overall , to waste some fuel in these cars.

When I had my RS4 it could be doing more dealer visits in the year than normal ie in for an oil service one month and then in for a service (no oil) later on in the year
On the plus side for non car people at least the cars were being looked over by ‘professionals’ more regularly.
The thought of some cars and owners leaving it 2 years between and therefore being checked over scares the hell out of me and let’s be honest there are plenty of poser Porsche owners out there that won’t regularly check tyre wear for example and they can wear out dangerously well before 2 years and certain mileages
