OK....

So for some reason I wondered on to the 'other' Macan forum.....

Where IMHO someone posted a comment about giving his Macan a little bit of exercise at 3 AM on a deserted highway.... From what I've seen here all rather innocent (for a PORSCHE forum) yet the moderators appear to have jumped in and stamped on the discussion.

I know speeding is totally against the law END OF STORY... however if it was 3 AM on a deserted Motorway in the middle of nowhere you would wouldn't you? (I know I've done the Speed Awareness Course and these are the worst places for fatalities because in the event of an accident it could take hours for your to be discovered if you went off the road...).... BUT your driving a Porsche ???

Just my opinion.... Sorry if its controversial.... ?

Anyway.... Given up on the other forum for another few months.... Ouch

Agreed, SB!
What are they suggesting? Its safer to speed in a built up area, because the wreckage will be found sooner?!

From the posting on USA site...

While I am still in break-in mode, around 1300 miles, I had an opportunity that I had to take the other night. I was driving my Turbo to upstate Pennsylvania at 3 o'clock in the morning to go deer hunting. The northeast extension of the turnpike was deserted, just me and another car's headlights coming up from behind on a long straight stretch of roadway. It was a C6 Corvette who pulled alongside of me. Of course you know what happened next, he slowed along side of me and then stomped on it. I though for a second or two and they let her loose. Amazingly the Macan made for a good run. The Corvette had about 4-5 cars on me could not pull away. Needless to say we went from 65 to 135mph in what felt like seconds. I had AS in low but was not in sport or sport plus mode. While the Corvette technically won the Macan Turbo did a **** of a job demonstrating her power. Sorry but had to share with you guys.

You will be pleased to hear he survived unlike the stag he shot having arrived.

God Bless America!

So.... Is it inappropriate for me to post these kind of stories on here.....

Obviously I'd say something like ....

"I've got this friend ... Lets call him Bernard.... Bernard's got this problem with his right ankle... Sometimes when Bernard is driving on his own in the middle of the night when no-one else is around he just can't stop his right ankle from trying to straighten itself out... This has a really bad impact on the MPG of his PORSCHE, which normally while carefully driven can get 30 MPG will on these occasions drop to maybe 15 MPG (if he's lucky)... He knows he's got a problem, but cant help himself... What should he do???"

Showing my age, this actually sound like a BBC Radio 2 "Our tune story" Cry
