Has anyone done one of these https://www1.pec.porsche.com/silverston ... te_warmup/

I was going to book the PEC Macan driving experience but this seems more relevant to everyday driving (you get to drive your own car under various simulated scenarios e.g. under/oversteer, fast corners, evasive action etc) for half a day.
It seems to be to be better educational value that 90 mins hooning around the track in someone else's car for not much more money.

Big birthday coming up so wanted to do something memorable but also worthwhile in the long run

Did you say it was in your car ? That would put a fair bit of stress on the brakes and tyres I would imagine - I think I would rather do it in their car!

I’m pretty sure you can tailor the normal day to your own wishes, for example I did the 992 one before I finalised the spec and the first chunk of that session I requested we took different suspension spec cars out in the road which they were happy to oblige with. As part of that he asked if I wanted any on road coaching which could be have been very useful if I hadn’t already been trained by traffic cops before extensively. Having said that, I don’t think anybody should be arrogant enough to think that they could never learn more so it wasn’t interesting to hear some of his points.

All the "simulated scenarios" are covered by the norm PEC experience. It's a lot more than just "hooning around the track".

Not sure that normal insurance covers you for what the Insurance Company may well consider to be a "track day".

Apart from the fact that one of the PEC cars would be MY2020 or MY2021 and therefore marginally more powerful than your MY2018 GTS, I would have thought everything you learn would be directly transferrable.

Good point re insurance......especially as the day comes under the 'track day experience' section

Don't forget that the PEC experience can be tailored to what you want to get out of it. On the last one I did in July in a Boxster I spent all my time on the kick plate, ice hill and then finished off the last session doing donuts on the low friction surface as I wanted to see how the car was driving in the winter. The instructor was more than happy to accommodate.

Thanks guys - so it looks like it's a choice between:

https://www1.pec.porsche.com/silverstone/en/pde/macan/ - the standard 90 mins PEC
Which as far as I can make out is the same as this (it's going to be a gift to me) https://www1.pec.porsche.com/silverston ... xperience/

Or possibly double the time on track via https://www1.pec.porsche.com/silverston ... xperience/
