Macan S Diesel Reversing Problems

My 2016 Macan S Diesel Auto has a problem in reverse, the throttle dies, then picks up and a loud knocking noise is heard.
My OPC can’t find any fault but there is something wrong, has anyone any clues.

Not easy under lockdown rules but see if you can get your OPC to agree to a technician coming out with you while you demonstrate the fault.

"Knocking noise" could have a number of causes. Does it sound like an old diesel van? That might indicate a fuel issue but then why only in reverse? The engine still turns in the same direction regardless of whether the car is going forward or backward.

My local OPC will not do that, trust me I’ve tried. I have an intermittent fault and now have to leave it with them for an extended period to test.

Sounds like it might the hill hold cutting in. There's always a bit of a click when the revs build and it releases.
