I am looking at buying my first Porsche and found a Porsche Macan Turbo - 43k miles - 2015
I have a few questions as I’m new to Porsche, if anyone could help that would be great:
1. What is the typical MPG to be expected? I have seen 24mpg online.
2. What is a typical service cost? I have been advised £300-400 by a private garage and £600+ from Porsche
3. Tyres, I see they are N rated and been advised they are about £250 a tyre... is that right?
Thanks in advance
1st time Porsche Macan Turbo owner - questions?
Ref Service costs. Porsche used to publish service costs under the banner of Total Transparency but this seems to have been withdrawn
I have a note of costs. On the Turbo minor 20k service is £575 and 40k service £1250. I was quoted £1500 inc gearbox service at 4 years 40k miles.
Tyres sounds about right. Check out Camskill online for prices eg https://www.camskill.co.uk/m74b0s13365p ... OE_Porsche

Welcome JN,
1. Depends on your driving style and journey types. Ran one for 4 years 36k miles, app 20k on motorway overall 22mpg
2. Main dealer repairs can be very expensive, most here extend warranty or find a good Indy. Search the site for service and repair costs, lots of detail on here.
3. Could also check Black Circle with the reg no and wheel size of the car your viewing and you will see a whole range of prices and yes most will start with a £2- - and they must be N rated.
Is it with a Porsche main dealer? there should be a service stamp for 2017/2019 and it will be heading for/due it’s 2021 service. Less of an issue if you don’t plan on buying a Porsche Warranty extension. Just be aware, as said dealer repairs

I own a 2014 (MY2015) Turbo. Bought it 22 months ago with 25k miles. Now with 35k miles on the clock - lower than average due to retirement + lockdown.
- During my 1st year of ownership, most of my journeys were short start/stop commutes to work on local roads. I also did the occasional motorway trip to Wales (180 miles each way). This year no more commutes but all driving has been short journeys. Average MPG over 22 months = 19. No point in having a Turbo and taking it easy.
- I had a major (6yr ?) service carried out at an OPC last year which included spark plugs, PDK oil change & brake fluid change. Total cost = £1300 inc VAT
- Just had 2 new N0 rated rear tyres, Michelin. Cost £380 all in.

Best i've had on fuel consumption was 26mpg on a particularly boring drive up through Norfolk.
Knock ten off that if you're in a hurry and there aren't many cameras about.
Look on black circles as a guide for tyres, we've got an independent who is usually a bit cheaper.
Order in good time as not all sizes in a specific brand are always available.
Can't remember how much my last service was but make sure you do gearbox and transfer box in good time, half recommended interval is what i stick to.

I have owned porsches since 2005 and always serviced through a dealer and other than the first few services when new, the dealer somehow manages to find problems with the car so that you spend 1-2k at service.
