I noticed a Macan,in crayon ,2 years old for sale on the used Porsche site at Wolverhampton garage. It's priced around 56k.When you add up the extras it comes to about 53k.Now for a two year old car, even with just 5000 miles on the clock that seems a lot of pounds. Are prices of second hand macans going mad?

Simply yes... I was looking at offers of trade in at 40k on my 2018 gts in jan... up 10% from there now most nearly new cars are over list price at the moment.

All used car prices are through the roof. Plenty of demand and lack of supply. Great time to sell, bad time to buy used and likely better to buy new.

Used prices are crazy. I today let my Macan GTS 2016 plate go to a Porsche dealer for Β£50k. No private sale just a direct cash purchase. Easiest transaction.

Crazy for a 4.5 year old car. It was exceptionally low miles and immaculate with Β£11k + of extras. It was showroom condition also.
It was the right time to let it go as I want to get into a Macan EV in the not too distant future so decided to take the money now at peak before I have to pay to extend warranty etc.
I think the gap between what you get privately and from the trade has narrowed considerably.

Have to say I will miss it as it was a superb car.
Once the EV version is ready I will be back in a Porsche again.

Kasafranks99.
Wow! Amazing! Good for you.

You will have quite a long wait for the EV Macan though. Do you have interim wheels?

Yes I run a couple of other cars anyway.
About to get a 5 month old Audi A3 Sline until I am ready for another change. Managed to pickup a demo car so fully loaded and at a very reasonable price.

Definitely got a while to wait for the EV.
If it takes too long I will no doubt get an itch for a 911….

This has been going on all year. I was looking at a facelift model at OPCs in January and they were all priced within a few k of a new one. I ordered new and it took 3 months, the dealers said they were selling the used ones easily as most people didn't want to wait. Glad I waited, got exactly the spec I wanted and still have that new car smell.

Everyone should own a 911 at some point in their life! ;)

+1on that, you will only ever regret selling one, not buying it, as can often be the case with other dream cars.
