Hi everyone,

Looking for opinion/views on this car I have seen advertised...

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... =relevance

I would probably put on about 10k miles per year onto this, I did notice the tyres aren't a premium make bar 1 michelin.
Is this a good price for the age, spec etc? Would be my first Macan so looking for the opinions of anyone on here that could help.

Thanks!

It certainly looks like it by the way the light is reflected off the car.

Looks okay, one owner and if full Porsche history that’s good, Halogen headlights are crap and the MOT is short, check the rear tyres, looks like the fronts will have been changed last MOT. Priced about right for year and mileage, not underpriced, suggest need to see the full spec details, independent traders often get it wrong.

Yes, you can see it in several pics.

With only one Michelin tyre there must be different tread patterns on the same axle. That's an MOT failure if the tester is awake. The correct speed rating for Macan tyres is Y and at least one of the tyres is rated W with a load rating of 104. The correct load rating is 103(front) and 106(rear) for the 20" wheels. Porsche say all tyres should be "N" rated. Whilst that is only of real importance for warranty purposes, wrong speed and load ratings could have implications in the hopefully unlikely event of an accident related insurance claim.

Far be it from me to contradict Peter but I believe the tyre speed rating varies across the different models, probably in relation to top speed. As for the N rating the Service Advisor that dealt with my oil change in February assured me having two A0, not N, rated front tyres was not an issue. It was noted on the health check and came as a surprise to me so I asked specifically about the warranty having seen comment on the forum. I did not, however, get it in writing!

i agree with On-Track, the tyres should match and be N Stamped, ask for a new set.

Feel free to contradict :D

I have a document called overview of summer tyres which can be found via the link below:

https://www.porsche.com/china/en/access ... eapproval/

All Macan wheel sizes apart from 18" have Y rated tyres. I don't know why as the speed rating exceeds the maximum speed of some of the models but I am quoting a Porsche source.

Manufacturers of everything build in a margin for contingency, it's a risk averse/don't blame me world we live in. Just ask Boris! As I have 18" wheels maybe that's where the difference crept in although I though it was petrol/diesel. Tyres, a minefield, tread with care.
