I found, in my short ownership of my 991.2 Carrera that, due to it's outstanding abilities, you could quite easily maintain a high average speed without the need to brake or accelerate heavily meaning fuel consumption was pretty good...maybe I wasn't going fast enough...I had some fantastic journeys across Salisbury Plain

Yup, it’s a truly great all rounder!

Until I genuinely need something bigger, or until I can no longer get in or out of it, I really can’t think of what I’d replace it with. :)

During the first 1000 km my new GTS did about 15-17 mpg even though I’m careful to keeping below 4000 revs during break in period. Hope it’ll get better after.

Do you mean MPG? 15-17 seems extremely thirsty, even for a GTS... :o

That’s 20.2 mpg for UK gallons 👍
Sounds a bit better 😊

Further to my original post. Just completed a journey from cotswolds to Yorkshire achieving 34 mpg including urban, country and motorways with some hiily work around Bradford. My 39 mpg figure resulted from country and motorway work and the low avg speed resulting long stretches of stop start motorway driving due to volume of traffic which isnt necessarily condusive to good economy due to constant acceleration and braking. My other substantial journey was cotswolds to cornwall at 35.8 mpg. As regards accuracy of mfd I have not got any figure yet but my experience with bmw was up to 5% optimistic figures. I am pleasantly surprised how good the figures are compared with wltp quoted figures.
