I'd personally actually be happy to pay a larger deposit/interim payment as I could put it on a credit card and get airmiles, whereas my final payment has to be bank transfer and my OPC dont seem to be budging on this. (I assume they would also accept a big suitcase full of money but havent checked)
Nope
Only v minimal amount of cash allowed
Money laundering regs
Pay on a debit card or BT
Yep, Credit Cards not allowed. I wanted to use my BA Amex to get air miles but, alas, its a no-no
I get it from their perspective, I’m just trying to make up for 2 years of not flying for work to refill my Avios balance :)

Barclays Premier have a reasonable Avios rewards scheme at the moment. Especially if you are a new customer.

Back on topic it seems quite a few of us are on tomorrows build day. They must be doing a RHD day!

Wing Commander wrote: Wed Oct 13, 2021 6:37 pm It varies with OPCs. None of my three new Porsche cars required any interim payment. Just the initial deposit of £3,000/£5,000 and then the final payment on collection. :)
The deposit can vary as well. OPC Bournemouth wanted £5k deposit for a Macan whereas everyone else I spoke to wanted £3k. Bournemouth also couldn’t even arrange a test drive of a Gen 2 Macan with 6 weeks notice and agreeing a date with them  …. So not all OPCs are born equal.
Ridiculous that it’s different

I put £3k down for the macan GTS gen 3

Also just put £5k down yesterday for a 992 targa 4s :)

Nice! Congrats! :) Spec?

This is it for now:

http://www.porsche-code.com/PN8VCTE0

But I’ll likely change it several times between now and when it locks.

I don’t even have an allocation and I’m told it could be 18 months!!

So I’ve put the deposit down but I might actually cancel if I buy something else sooner. Thought I’d just get my place in the queue anyway.

Have my eye on a 1 year old AMG GT C as an alternative

My SE has just said that my Gen 3 Macan S "is due to go into production this week" and "we should see the car here at the centre in approximately 3 weeks" The original build date was 22/10/21

The spec. is

http://www.porsche-code.com/PNUT7127

Am (again) about to try to get an insurance quote from LV

Congrats! They are definitely starting to come through at a decent rate now. Please do keep us informed on the insurance as that’s an issue we’re all facing.

Nice spec, BTW, I think Black and Pebble EL is my favourite interior ( which is a bit annoying as its not what I ordered)

Which OPC?
