I can't believe it... the Macan I've just received has nearly every option except for the heated steering wheel..... :o

Is it possible to retro-fit one?

Yep, definitely a new steering wheel.

There's a button on the base to turn it on and obviously a heating element inside.

Best bet would be to check breakers yards online. Chances are if it's in a breakers yard the airbag has gone bang though.

I'd wager Porsche would charge you the thick end of £1k for a new one. Plus fitting, of course.

That's definitely one option to spec cheaply when you buy new.

It can definitely be done. If you can buy a complete steering wheel minus the airbag than the only thing you may need is the relevant clock spring and maybe some coding.

The singular Option that I cherish the most on my Macan.

Those cold icy Winters’ morn and the circular icicle that is the steering wheel, uggh.

A flick of the switch and a few seconds later, bliss and toasting hands.

Sorry, could not resist rubbing it in

No way!... It should be a default option on every new car... I'd never experienced a heated steering wheeling before until I had my first Macan the winter before last... On those cold winter mornings, when everything is frozen, putting your hands on the wheel and feeling the warmth start seeping back in to your cold frozen body, it feels like God himself has made that steering wheel. :D

Hey Guys. I've had one before, so I understand the switch and element is in the wheel itself, I've found one on ebay so no problem to get one.

However, I'm wondering if there is a connector within the steering column for it and if the car will detect it?

Although I've found online there seems to be a control unit for it - part no. 95B959256E - I wonder if I need to order this and fit it as well.

Is there an online parts manual for the Macan with exploded diagrams of everything?

If I manage to fit all the bits and it doesn't work, could I go to my local Porsche centre and tell them the heated steering wheel stopped working and they'd fix it? he he..
