For years I have reversed using the mirrors to navigate but also now use Surround View as a guide in very tight spots. It is one of those options you would miss if you've had it.

Can you manually switch on the front camera to navigate width restrictions on the road?

I have been told this, one selling point that led me to spec it, however, as yet I don't have it so we'll have to wait for another member who does have it to answer your question.mueslibrown wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 8:25 am Can you manually switch on the front camera to navigate width restrictions on the road?

I thought that was the radar sensor?

I think you're right
There is a small camera on the front grille for surround view - but nothing like as noticeable as the much larger radar sensor ...
Provided your speed is low enough, yes. Although I don't think I'd want to be going fast through some of the width restrictions round here...! As with others, I just have it assigned to the diamond button on the steering wheel. As your speed picks up after navigating the obstacle, the camera image disappears automatically from the screen.mueslibrown wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 8:25 am Can you manually switch on the front camera to navigate width restrictions on the road?

It's also useful when exiting blind junctions. Just select panoramic front (or back if reversing). Particularly at the front you can see if anything is coming without poking the bonnet out into the road.

Error, so how, when stationary at a junction do you get the view, if you haven't already programmed the ◇?
