In all honesty nobody really knows. I was told by my OPC that adding non-standard suspension parts would likely cause delays but I suspect they don’t really know either.PMS888 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 2:14 pm 3 weeks ago I changed my spec (only for the second time) and it was my OPC (West London) and not me that said in their email to me that the spec change had gone through and that it had not delayed my build date. I only took off the running boards. By him saying that suggests some changes can delay a build? IInterestingly my spec has been locked now for 2 weeks and is still scheduled for end of October delivery. I’ve ordered a S with air suspension. If there are delays then why lock or even confirm a build / delivery date if things are so uncertain? Gives me hope.
I did have a gen 2 S order with air suspension that was meant to arrive in June but was delayed by 4 months until 28th October 2021 for delivery. This makes me think they’re expecting to sort out the air suspension by then which means my gen 3 S on air order is realistic?
I started a separate post on this. I, like many others, have been given a build date and so far it hasn’t changed. GTS builds seem a bit longer but I’m still not sure any have actually been notified of a delay after being given an initial build date ( this is Gen 3 ). So it’s possible there’s a lot of panic over nothing.
BTW, not sure if it makes a difference but mine is on PCP, so every time I make a spec change they have to change all the PCP paperwork too. That may be the real reason they “suggested” it may be a good idea for me to stop changing stuff.
