Thats a good idea. Get a can of black motorbike case paint. Its designed specifically for high-heat high-impact environments.
Btw, the thing about needing the car the whole day to let it cool down…..have you ever had a whole exhaust replaced? I have back in my yooof when I never paid more that a few hundred quid for a car. I drove the car to the garage, waited whilst they changed the whole exhaust ( not just the tips ) and then drive it home. I think i would have just asked Porsche to supply the parts and fitted them myself.

Oh yes, back in the good old days (which in truth were crap motoring wise). Working on cars on the drive many a time. I am now incapable of getting on my back to do stuff, well I can but would need a forklift to pick me up. My first 'real' car was a scrapyard case A35 I tried to repair, unsuccessfully, was a Ford Escort 1300 XL. A 'G' reg. I had a hot date lined up but went to start the thing and it steadfastly refused to start. Of course, it the flooded so out came the plugs, gaps checked ,cleaned and replaced and still nothing. It turned over buy wouldn't fire. Checked all the usual things, flattened two batteries and gave up after an hour. Naturally, the bloody thing started the next day

I think there’s a whole new thread here. Crap cars we’ve owned. My first was a Triumph Dolomite 1850HL that I stuck Dolomite Sprint stickers on ( badly ) because clearly that made it loads quicker. Didn’t do a lot for the massive rust holes though. Or for the engine when the timing chain broke. Back then we just took the head off and rebuilt the engine ourselves. Much easier to let other people do that sort of thing these days. Can you imagine how much a macan engine rebuild would cost?!
I know this is Gen 2 but are these the standard exhaust tips, i.e. not Black or Chrome? Is so I think they look fine. The black look better but not nearly £600 better. Thanks
