My 'S' is 2 years old and has completed 18000 miles. The paint is 'speckled' and the round tips are devoid of paint. Sent some pics to the OPC that I bought it from, Porsche Chester, and was told that ' well they are exhaust tips and have to handle hot temperatures and fumes'. Really?, what a surprise I said. They kindly conceded that there may be a problem but wanted to remove them and polish them first before they considered a warranty claim. I had it booked in on the 25th October as they are very busy. Not good enough. A trip to Porsche Bolton on Monday last and it's all sorted. A guy came out and looked at them and a couple of days later called me to book the car in to replace them under warranty. Going in on the 24th. Now that is better service all around.
Dolomite Silver 'S' with red leather 14 way seats, Pano roof, Bose, Air suspension with pasm, Chrono pack, PDLS, Surround view, 911 turbo wheels, heated screen, spare wheel, ioniser,75 lt tank, black tail pipes, black roof rails.

On my 3rd set and Porsche decline to make it 4.
Rubbish quality; tempted to paint them myself with high temp gloss spray from Halfords. Did my RS4 previously and it made a lovely job.......

Must say my mini has the JCW Pro exhaust tips ( and the whole exhaust system ) and 36000 miles and 4 years later they look as fresh as the day they were fitting ( despite years of sounding like an artillery barrage when I feel so disposed ).

Is this a common or bad luck problem?

The issue with the black tail pipes has come up a lot on this forum.

I actually rather like the black ones, they just seem insanely expensive. Pretty sure there will be some aftermarket ones available for less.PorscheMack wrote: βThu Sep 09, 2021 5:03 pmHey Omni, Bet you're glad your S has the stainless finish exhaust.OmniCognateSnr wrote: βThu Sep 09, 2021 4:55 pm Must say my mini has the JCW Pro exhaust tips ( and the whole exhaust system ) and 36000 miles and 4 years later they look as fresh as the day they were fitting ( despite years of sounding like an artillery barrage when I feel so disposed ).
Got any pictures of what the standard ones look like? ( no posting pictures of scaffolding poles! ).
