Look forward to hearing opinions, and some interior shots
Some initial impressions. Never driven the GTS before as they never had a demo before today. These are all entirely personal observations and made in comparison to what I drive currently which is a Merc E class coupe.

1. Sport plus is scary quick. Knocked it into this mode on the M60 and it terrified me 😂 I did get more used to the feeling as the drive went on. The sound is absolutely nuts (in a good way)

2. The 18 way seats were ok for me. I’m very athletic but can well imagine some difficulty might be encountered by older drivers as the side bolsters are very firm, rigid even, when climbing in and out.

3. The car had the standard steering wheel. It feels hard to my bony hands. Very hard. My Merc wheel is much softer and for me that’s important. I have specced the GT wheel on my GTS which does feel better.

4. The car did not have power steering plus. This is very noticeable in and about town when manoeuvring. The steering felt heavy.

5. Carbon interior looked ok, but the weave is a little old school in visual for me.

6. The heated steering wheel worked (unlike what was reported by another poster today)

7. When making a call the receiver said I sounded very distant. I’m sure I must have been doing something wrong?

AllanG wrote: Fri Oct 15, 2021 10:04 am IMHO, Crayon really doesn’t suit the above Macan, as it looks distinctly beige in some light conditions, so I certainly wouldn’t be paying a ‘premium’ for this colour 👎
I've ordered Crayon but get what you're saying. It looks nothing like the photos in the flesh though. Even on the posted ones above it looks beige on the side shot then grey on the rear shot immediately below???
Perhaps it’s my eyes deceiving me, so I’ll have to see a Crayon Macan in the flesh 👍

It will be fine once they get the semi-conductor and can put the top paint of colour on it
Haven't you heard about the semi-conductor shortage
Yes....so half painted as a result ?

First thoughts

Ride was rougher without air, noticeable.

Faults including Bluetooth not working properly
Heated wheel didn’t work either.

I have been thinking about your ride comment. As far as I can see this new Gen3 S on 21's . I suspect your wife's Gen 2 on 20's? So wheel size as well as lack of air suspension could be contributing to worse ride. and I suspect the major factor.

I feel similar about not changing from my 2019 S ( on 20's with air) at this stage. I would like the 2.9 litre v6 but gains very marginal with Uk traffic as it is. I am planning to extend the warranty on my 2019 and in three years time will only have done around 50k. I may have a hard think around time for final Gen3 Macan orders in late 2023 early 24
Am pretty sure that Tracky’s blue Macan has 21” wheels. :geek:

LAJ, thanks for the pics and write up. :)

What did you think of Miami Blue, having seen it and driven in it for a while? 🤔

So sounds like you’d change to 14way seats, gt steering wheel, remove carbon and either remove sport chrono or change to S? Which OPC did you borrow it from?

Most welcome Simon. 👍🏻
Colour is so subjective as we all know. I liked it, a lot… just not with those satin wheels. My own preference for a GTS is black wheels. It’s that “look” that attracted me to car in the 1st place back in December last year…

The 18 way seats are fine for me. Just pointing out I can see why they might not be for others.

Steering wheel was very hard!!

I’ll get used to the power of the GTS and by the end of the drive fear had been replaced by fun to be honest. Remember… I’ve been in a diesel e class for 4 years!

Bolton Porsche Centre. They are stella and have accommodated me every step of the way into this new adventure.

Gracias, definitely makes me think the GTS interior with crayon stitching is the way to go, and the extra leather bits.

OK so, big butts and/or old timers should skip the 18 ways

Can you adjust the bolsters on the seats?
