Quite a bet! Do you offer that as a viable way of financing a Macan for everybody? I'm guessing your stake was more than a tenner šŸ˜

Bought the 992 on HP with balloon - cheaper than PCP

Got some freebies thrown in

Paid balance in full after about 6 months - quids in

Mate just bought Ā£102k spec GT4 - missed GT3 allocation despite the family buying a number of Ā£100k +Porsches (inlcuding his Mrs' Macan Turbo) recently

Told if he finances it (Which he doesn't need to do) it is another tick in the correct box for when the GT3RS allocations are decided...we will see.
On order

I would never offer financial advice to anyone as I have no credentials to do so, just saying what worked for me with a helping of luck and timing thrown in as well.

Well done. If it wasn't for Gordon Brown maybe I would have had my first Porsche years ago on the back of those Bradford & Bingley shares I bought .......šŸ˜šŸ˜

This is my most expensive car purchase so I went down the cash route but I didn't want to use any savings so I did a bit of research, placed my bet on the stock market and a few months later came away with enough profit to purchase my Turbo outright. SE at Reading wanted to sell me the finance and when I said I'll pay cash, they said 'Oh you don't want to do that, you could be using that cash for something else ...'.
For someone selling a financial product you could infer that is advice which your SE isnā€™t qualified to give and would have to share that they are providing ā€˜adviceā€™. Very poor and (borderline) illegal from your SE there.

Must say I did find it an odd response when they said it - his boss came down to talk about the finance packages ...

Ask for a discount for taking out a finance and how much discount you can get? I got Ā£1500 off my car for taking a finance deal. Then within that month - i just paid off the loanā€¦. win winā€¦. The salesman has targets to see how many new finance deals they are able to get for the month.

I hope that your mate is someone who buys the cars as he appreciates the engineering & puts plenty of miles on them ;)

Sadly many GT buyers are more into the cars as investments/garage queens :(
