I just asked for a quote on a new Macan GTS
did they confirm the engine size/output with you? If you say its a 2021 GTS they probably wont question the engine size etc. I know the 2020 and 2021 GTS models have the same engine but there is a significant BHP hike. So if they think you have 375BHP rather than the actual 440BHP in the new GTS your insurance wont be valid.

Of course its totally possible they just haven't updated their website yet
I didn't go into any specifics around BHP etc. and neither did they
Let't face it, whilst I may know the difference in BHP, there are many who have no idea about BHP and wouldn't even know to question it.
If the Gen 3 is not on any comparison site, does that mean all current Gen 3 owners are driving around uninsured?
Alot of the gen 3 owners on here have had specific conversations with their insurers and had their policies referred to the underwriters at that insurance company as the new Macan model isnt on their system so quotes with the old model type arent correctly assessing risk and may not be valid.

I did this with LV= today and the salesperson had to put me on hold to speak with someone else before confirming they could insure my car using the current S model they had but with a note against it to specify it was a 2022 model as they didnt have the correct details.

Each to their own but from my perspective as I'm insuring a £60k risk I dont want to be paying for something that wont reimburse me if something happens to the car.

Regarding new car cover LV= apparently will cover a new car for replacement if its written off and is less than 12 months old including options apparently. Please not though this doesnt count if its an ex demo car and is under 12 months old.

I spoke with LV today and was also put on hold, presumably whilst they spoke with an underwriter, following which they said that manufacturers do not always immediately notify insurers of model changes, but they were happy to insure based on the equivalent model on their database.

Fantastic, one less thing to worry about. Thanks for posting that

Interestingly, having just tried it, the only insurance company that offers insurance is Admiral. Presumably no other companies have updated their databases yet.

Coming in around £500 for me, but that's including work use, & 12000 miles per year

Its 2894. 2983 was the old S. Go onto the Porsche website, pick the S model and select “Technical Specs” directly under the picture of the car. FYI the GTS is the same size too, just with a smidge more BHP.
